Carl Sagan: The Pale Blue Dot

This is a tale of one message delivered in two different but wonderful ways. The narrator of both of these videos is the wonderful and much missed Cosmologist Carl Sagan. Both films look at his discussion about the insignificance of the “Pale Blue Dot” that is our only home.

Sagan asks us to think about how small we really are and how fragile is the small speck of dust that we live on and which contains all the stories that make us what we are and have ever been or will become.

The two videos though look at the narration in very different ways. One explores humanity through a brilliant use of film footage and the other explores our place in the Cosmos…. same words…. very different but brilliant effects. These are both videos that would make children think, reflect and open up many different discussions. Enjoy.
